Thank you. I did it on the Peter Pan's Flight in 2005. I forgot to
take the cards out of the shorts they were in and they got washed! (A
moment of silence for the deck of cards that gave all.) I also did
some sponge ball work for a little girl (with her mother present) who
was waiting for Aladdin and Jasmin to appear for a photo shoot. She
seemed to enjoy it.

Easy solution - plastic waterproof playing cards! When Katie was
spending her summers at the YMCA camp, she took these with her and other
than losing them, they were impervious to pretty much all environmental
hazards.

I actually HAD a deck of those once and thereby hangs a tale. There
used to be a "music festival" held in Newport RI every year. One year,
there was a riot over something and the festival field got trashed.
(It was later made into public housing actually called "Festival
Field.") I didn't go to the festival so I managed to miss the riot.
But afterwards I looked around the field to see what had happened. In
one of the backstage areas, I found a few playing cards. I kept
looking and discovered the entire deck strewn about. I kept them for
years.

However, they were bridge sized (which worked for me as I was a lot
younger then with smaller hands) and plastic cards don't handle well
with most slights used by magicians.

Because it's easy, I'm lazy and I can access Google from any computer
(say at the public library) without having to download anything.

H2O Safe Playing Cards CLEAR CARDS
Product# 903968 75 distributed by Greenbriar International Inc. Chesapeake,
VA 23320
Yes, they are transparent, no you can't read the values from both sides -
there is an opaque under printing.

I knew my vast collection of playing cards would come in handy some day. I
can throw them out now, that's likely the last time I'll need to make
reference...

On the subject of performing at the park: A fun helpful guest is delightful.
Don't go up Main Street stopping random guests saying "Wanna see a trick?"
If you are in a queue making magic on someone, and a cast member such as a
custodian should be very curious onlooker to stop and watch - shoo them
away. Tell them "Pardon me. This is a private conversation I'm having with
my friend." and expect security to then be watching you. Don't represent
yourself as a cast member. Don't ask for anything in return.
I once had the misfortune of an online friend coming over to greet me as I
was walking the main path in DCA and introducing his brother, whose birthday
it was. "Well, let me make you a friend-ship" said I while proceeding to
inflate and twist a "Famous Jason" (that looks a lot like Pluto, I'm told.)
balloon animal. A sweeper soon stood nearby, then we were interrupted by
security.
Twisting a colorful balloon can be quite conspicuous, it's true, but I
always keep three or four tricks in my pocket, and when standing in a queue
I have rewarded the well behaved with "Guerrilla Art" - surprise
performance, then vanish - like a good magician.

My problem is that I can not stop talking to people, and my theme is science
edutainment. It's easy for me to start a conversation and guide to reveal
something about the world. I do that EVERYWHERE, but limit that behavior at
'the land' 'cause I don't want to get escorted out. But if you stand behind
me in line and start a conversation, you will have fun being fascinated.

Never represented myself as anything but another guest standing in
line. Never asked for anything. Only performed twice and no one gave
me any problems.
