We took my grandson at 15-months and again at 3 years old.
Surprisingly, to me, he was easier to handle at the younger age.
Fantasmic, Wishes, etc. were no problem but he didn't like the noise
of fireworks. He was OK with stuff like Spaceship Earth but better at
the MK-Fantasyland stuff (iasw, the Carousel, etc.).

We're scheduled for January when he'll be 5 and it should be a major
difference just watching him react to things around here. His brother
though will be 18 months. It should be fun.

Don't hesitate to split up for a time - send the little ones off with
the parental units for a few hours while you enjoy some "adult" stuff.
Then offer to take them on Small World while the others ride Space
Mountain. That worked for us.

I think we'll be doing that a lot but I will probably have the girlies
with me. Daughter-in-law's parents are newbies!!! They may do a
behind the scenes tour and dad is doing the Richard Petty ride along.
There are some things I would like to do but don't have to do. As
long as everyone has a good time, I'll be happy. The character meals
are fine because I love those as much as anyone. I'll definitely be
posting a pre-trip report. This is a special trip because it's the
first for the babies, first the other grandparents, first for me with
kids in over 30 years, and we have a major surprise planned for my son
and daughter-in-law for their birthdays.

Easiest trip I ever had with Miles was when he was 1.

I'm guessing it was because he couldn't walk. Molly will be walking
and Mommy is getting one of those harnesses that hooks onto the
adult's wrist. I think they are great! My daughter has a friend
who's only memory of WDW was getting lost there when she was a child
and she dreads ever going back! Sara won't be walking yet at all and
will be a couple of weeks shy of 1. I'm just afraid of having them
get scared in certain attractions.
