Well, of COURSE you're right! But when the eyes start physically
hurting then closing, the car starts swerving, time to pull over or
let someone else drive! I think my wife doesn't like to drive in the
rain, snow, night, directly into the sun, hevy traffic, stop & go
traffic, etc. , JUST so she can read, watch movies, nap, eat, drink,
etc. (well, the driver can eat and drink too but have to rely on
others to get for us!). I think it's a female conspiracy.

I agree! Maybe it's rare that we're in that position to HAVE another
person willing to drive! I could be dead tired and still take quite a
while to fall asleep if my wife is driving.

Kitty, I'm pretty sure there are others. Try a google search for
"public domain books". Be sure to have a large number of cd's, then
you have to carry them. Hmmm...here's an idea...bring a laptop loaded
with audio books & mp3s, a usb, firewire or bluetooth connection to a
car stereo with a like connection, a power inverter to run the laptop.
Lot of stuff to have to make it all work but would be cool!

Kitty, I gladly let my wife drive if she offers. I even ask if the
weather is good, mild traffic, she doesn't have to get off the highway
(even though we have a gps that works good most of the time). I
really DOES help and I do appreciate it when she does.
Keep trying!
