Garden Inns are very nice. The rooms are about the same size as a
regular hotel room, like a Hampton but they do have a mini fridge and a
microwave. And the cooked bfast is very good. Might even be worth paying
for it.

I think Keane was including the digits to the right of the decimal point
in his "3 figures". ;-)

We're talkin' North Carolina BBQ joints. Their cole slaw probably has
meat in it...

(They might think Tofu's a swear word...)

Kitty,
What about nap/drive alternating? When we drive north from south
Florida to NY, we usually leave by 7am. One year for Christmas the
PLAN was to leave after the kids got out of school. I had the car
mostly packed. I took a short na during the day. Had dinner and off we
were by 7 or 8pm. plan was I was to drive through the night, (wife
won't drive at night, even locally!), stop for breakfast, switch and I
would take a nap in the car. I thin I actually lasted until about 2am
then at the gas/rest stop, I closed my eyes for a few minutes, next
thing I know the sun is coming up and the kids are saying they're cold
and uncomfortable! Oh well, it was a good theory but didn't work out
too well! Don't think we will try that again but don't regret trying
it either!
