It's totally generic - I was very disappointed! Just the usual Mickey
face, though they still had the balloons on the side as I recall (that's
what the "colored ropes" go to). I didn't even bother taking a
photo of it.

Barry, does that mean you didn't get to the Main Street Cinema? They
have changed the movie(s) in there - they have one screen showing scenes
from the Opening Day broadcast (with Walt, Art Linketter and Ronald
Reagan), and about 5 others that are showing scenes from the rehearsal
for the opening day broadcast, plus looks at some of the attractions,
with some footage of the Matterhorn, also. The one screen is black and
white, while the other five are in color. My favorite part was Walt
Disney riding his bike backstage. :-)

I was in there just before 9:00 on Saturday morning and George
Kalogridis (president of Disneyland) came in to check it out. Just
George by himself, no entourage or anything, and he spent about 10
minutes looking around. Apparently this was a surprise for guests
which they just decided to do about a week before - he said they
weren't sure they would finish in time, and that it had just been
installed Friday night! It'll be there at least through the summer, but
beyond that they won't say.

Okay, thanks for the report, Laura. I couldn't see enough to tell
that the ropes were balloon strings.

I saw a YouTube video of the 55th anniversary sing-along in Town
Square. Must have been wonderful fun in person! And putting early
DL movies in the Cinema was a great idea, too.

True, we didn't get past the Mad Hatter store on Main Street. :-(
Hopefully we will get to the Main Street Cinema before the show leaves.
However, we generally avoid DL for the summer.

Actually, about half way through the display I had to stay in one place
and pan to get the end due to the cramped space. That's why the
perspective is so odd.
