It would make more sense to implement a Japanese style rapid transit to
London and Bristol Airport.
Make Bristol the major hub for North Europe transatlantic traffic. This
would keep the concentration of air traffic
away from the large concentrations of population. A rapid train without
stops could be as quick into London as
the tube is now.

Not sure why you choose Bristol, it is legendarily deficient in other
forms of public transport (not everyone who lands there will be wanting
to go via London). If they build HS2 to Birmingham, then this would be a
much better choice, and much closer to the country's population centre
of gravity.

Assuming of course that the pax are either originating from or going
to London? Stops would ensure pax in between are not inconvenienced
enough to prevent using a rapid train?

Which is the problem for some with LHR currently.? More services
should be distributed to the UK regionals.?

The key point is a rapid transit system to London. It acts as a Hub, so
nearby connotations are not important.
And the idea is that no one goes via London, it becomes the UK hub airport.

Planes from the Atlantic do not cross overland.
