Last time I looked, the only thing in the very short distance between
the North Sea and Schiphol was lots of fields.

The houses along there have turfed over roofs. So you may not notice them.
There are significant off shore gas structures in the nearby

In the context of airtravel one needs to think on larger scales, and
Heathrow and Schiphol are almost the same airport.

Except in different countries, of course, and one is traveller
friendly, the other a traveller's nightmare.

It doesn't matter I understand that Heathrow's third runway will be at
Boscombe Down North of Salisbury.
