The Caribbean theming beats the deep South every time for us. The colors are beautiful inside and out, and I really love the small courtyard gardens with tables and seating areas right outside your door. There are great walks all the way around the lake with hammocks and beach. I rarely will pay extra for a preferred room.....we can use that money for a meal......unless an AP discount comes up only for preferred. I like the separation of the check in building and the food court/shop and can honestly say the food choices are no better or no worse than other Disney resorts. They have been mostly homogenized across the board for many years. The whiners in my group do believe CBR should have a drink refill outpost or two around the resort. They feel the trek to the food court is too long when we are on the fringe (better for parking), and we always are...

Although I'll admit that we haven't stayed at many other resorts - only PC and ASMu. We love the Caribbean feeling. It's a beautiful walk at night with steel drum music softly playing and the lush grounds. We always get a preferred room simply because we like being closer to the main pool and food court. If that's not a big deal for you, you don't need to spend the money. Bus service at night can be a little frustrating but I don't think that's unique to CBR - always seems like there are lines for resorts and no buses coming. Hope you enjoy your stay!!!! Michelle

You just needed an excuse. ;-) Perhaps we should come up with different levels of addiction. The five or more trips per year, the three or more, the every year... Of course Sue would offset everything, so we'd have to assign addiction on a curve. (And good luck on the biopsy today, Sue. May they be less... excruciatingly painful than mine. :-)) Keane -- When stars are born, They possess a gift or two, One of them is this, They have the power to make a wish come true... -- Wishes Visit my site: http://keanespics.com

They are in fact, other than the theming, very similar resorts. >I rarely will pay extra for a preferred room.....we can use that money >for a meal......unless an AP discount comes up only for preferred. If I'm storming the parks, it doesn't matter. If I'm just there to relax, a nicer room is...nicer. For instance, I would only get a savanna view at AKL... :-) >I like the separation of the check in building and the food court/shop >and can honestly say the food choices are no better or no worse than >other Disney resorts. True, but each resort has food choices themed to the resort and not available at other locations, though the generic food is still generic food... >The whiners in my group do believe CBR should have a drink refill >outpost or two around the resort. Go to Hess and get a couple of 12-packs (and maybe some less than $2.25/bottle water) and get 'em cold. (Or bring them from home, like I do. :-)) And if anyone drinks beer, get it there. Ask Russo. HAhahahaha... Keane -- When stars are born, They possess a gift or two, One of them is this, They have the power to make a wish come true... -- Wishes Visit my site: http://keanespics.com

I'm not too worried about the food. I'm sure we will find something acceptable. There is a good variety so that's not a big deal. We aren't overly fussy. |
