Also remember that unlike cash resort reservations, owners can be "wait
listed" for DVC rooms. My understanding is that unless you are looking
for something very rare (like a grand villa at BW or BC during the
busiest season), you have a good chance of getting what you want.

Yes - very rare! You have to be a DVC Triple-Titanium Member to even
know about it. :-) Seriously, I did not realize BC didn't have grand
villas.

Speaking of this, several years ago, friends of mine were wait-listed
for a 2BR at BW during Spring Break season (with a confirmed backup at
OKW). A few weeks before arrival, they got their BW villa. When they
arrived, they put them in a grand villa (and for the same points as the
2BR). They said the CM was incredibly surprised and said he had never
seen anything like that ever before - and they are only Double Titanium.

Oh man oh man. The DVC bug is calling me and it is as loud as the
pounding waves at the pipeline. I owned 265 points quite a few years
ago, (mid to late 1990's). DVC rep Randy Krueger sold me points over the
phone. I was gonna buy into it anyway but he said I'd have free
length-of-stay park hoppers for everyone in my party, whether it was 1
person or 4, for 3 calendar years. Most excellent. Paid about $800.00
per year for fees or whatever they called it, got rid of it when I
decided I wanted out. Now you all have me rethinking as I read this and
that and this and that. :-) I've tried to not click on a subject that
says 'DVC' but I just can't stand it. And this thread was the clincher.
I want back innnnnnnn. So now to do my homework. I do like what you all
say about the resale market but I have only heard of 2 of them.......
dvc-resales.com (The Timeshare Store) and dvcbyresale.com. Late last
year I sent The Timeshare Store an inquiry email but no one ever ee'd me
back. Steve Russo, you said something about buying more points at $15.00
per? That's totally rad. Can you elaborate or is that perk-info for
current owners only? It'll be a couple of years before I buy back into
DVC as I have to take care of a few other things. I don't know if I'll
finance it or pay for it. It all depends on the interest rate.

peace out. john
