I'm not overly fond of ME but I love the price. The first time we
used it, we waited an hour. I also don't like having to make stops
before getting to our resort. It would be so much easier to rent a
car and drive there but, alas, that's not going to be in the budget.

Yes, we will rent a car, and Joe will carry your luggage. We will walk
out to the garage and get into an Alamo or National car and drive out,
no counter. The only hitch is you'll have to bribe Joe with something
to wait around for your checked bags.

Wait, I have a better idea. Fly down and we'll pick you up -- because
we live there.

And no, I've never used ME, but I have taken the Disney cruise line bus
to and from the airport to the cruise terminal, and used Mears round
trip from the airport to the resort in 1996. I hated both experiences.
It was fabulous when I started doing Tiffany Towncar, and then even
better when I started driving myself.

I don't like direct control of my time or my stuff, and I really don't
like standing around in groups of waiting people. Do enough of that in
lines all week at the parks.

Oops, make that "losing direct control". My editor needs more caffeine.
Or sleep.

Hmmm... when we were there in December we used ME and it was nearly a
disaster. It was the first time in their history that the luggage
hardware broke down. They told us that we would have to wait until the
morning to have them deliver our luggage. Since we had flown in early
enough to claim our luggage I informed them that this was unacceptable
to us. That we made sure we followed the guidelines and we needed to
work together on resolving the problem. Once we got it escalated to a
manger, we were able to resolve the problem. It turns out the luggage
was being brought to the regular luggage carousel where the ME folks
were planning on sorting through it manually over night. A manager
accompanied me to the luggage so I could identify ours. Once we
identified it, they brought it up to the bus with us and loaded it on
the next handicapped accessible bus. All in all, it took about an hour
longer and our nerves were frazzled, but we made it to the resort with
our luggage. Hopefully, this was a one time occurrence.

You can never tell when things will go bad. All you can do is solve
the problem as best you can and move on. In the grand scheme of things
the extra hour was not a large percentage of my two week vacation.
