DD Amy and I will be making the trek in December with little DGD (dear
granddaughter) Sara in tow who will be 11 months old. Should we rent
a car to hit Walmart for diapers and all baby needs? Take a cab? Buy
stuff here and have it shipped down before we get there? What's the
best way to deal with this? What would you all advise?

When we took our (then) 15 month old grandson, we loaded a suitcase
with diapers and other child care "stuff". Naturally, as the diapers
were disposed of during the week, it left room for souvenirs on the
return trip.

If you want to head out for a shopping trip while there, I've found
renting a compact for a day is reasonable (I rented at the National at
the Dolphin for $28). That's less than a round-trip taxi.

That's what I wanted to know, Steve! Thanks so much. I think I'll
call when we get there. The care care center will pick us up at our
resort.

Agreed! We first started taking my daughter when she was 9 mo. old.
Filled a suitcase with diapers, wipes, baby food jars. Did get the
disposable bibs (Bibsters) to have less washing. As we depleted the
diapers we had lots of room for goodies to take home.

That's a great idea! You could also send a crate or so of baby stuff via
UPS to the resort and then just have it brought to your room. Might be
cheaper than the 25 bucks for a checked bag and you don't have to tote
it anywhere. Or the Postal Service might work. But an empty bag at
Disney does get filled.
