Just returned from DL and we used TC's. We always do because that's how we
set our budget. We bring as much money as we need and that's it. We had no
problem although I was surprised at the number of people who didn't know
what it was! As long as you bring some identification, there shouldn't be
a problem. The only small hiccup was that some places would actually call
American Express to make sure the TC was legit.

That's the sad result of scammers who have passed bogus ones enough
times. Since TCs handle different from regular checks, and they don't
get used much, the lack of familiarity opens up potential.

I am not surprised that people didn't know what they were. We cashed our
last TCs years ago and now use an ATM card. But I do understand the
budget idea and I like that.

You can't accept money orders or cashier's checks anymore without
getting verification. It's just too easy for the bad guys to fake them.
