Sure. But that might not be soon.

I'll buy a new car before the new cafe laws come into effect, but
there really aren't any cars out there I want to buy. And though
the Maxima is over 9 years old, I still really like it. I don't think
I can say that about the other cars I've owned at 100+K miles.
Many didn't make it that far. The only thing I don't like about it
is OBDII, but that isn't Nissan's fault...

Anyway, I said that about 20% of the miles on the car have been
the 10 trips it's taken down to WDW, which would technically add
about $600-$700 to the cost of each the trip, but I'd drive it anyway.
I like long road trips.

And I really hate airports. Even before 2001.

My car has almost 165k on her. A 1998 Volvo. Nothing wrong with her and
she gets all the expensive maintenance required. We drive if it's less
than 10 hours butts in seats time. Just can't do longer days anymore.
Well, ever.

I am not a big fan of airports and worse, car rental joints that require
a bus ride aka, O'Hare.

Wow! My problem is that there are too many that I want. I can't decide
between the utility of an SUV or wagon, the convenience and economy of a
small/midsized sedan, or the exhilaration of a sports car. And then
within each category, there are too many choices.

It's funny to think back at the cars we've had that seemed old and worn
out way before 50K. I remember back when cars had 12K mile warranties
and that was it, and it was not uncommon to have breakdowns and major
repairs way before 30K. Nowadays, there are many, many cars that are
drive 100K ore more with nothing but routine maintenance and minor, if
any, problems.

Huh? What's wrong with OBDII???

I do, too, but I have to draw the line at about 10 hours. And I'm
defintiely not going to stay overnight on the road. I know road trips
can seem fun, but I do have my limits. Luckily, WDW is under 9 hours
and the beach is about 4.

Do what I did: get two. :-) (In my case, a sports car and a
compact 4WD wagon.) I bought them both used, and I keep cars
forever, so they really haven't cost me that much more than
most people spend on one car over 15-20 years.

I'm sorta sentimental about my Max, too. I've got a bear bite on my
front bumper. Can you say your car was bit by a bear?

O'hare's the worst. I'd rate DFW or ATL right after that, though.
