Hi all-
This will just be a short recap of my day. I may write a more
detailed TR over the weekend.
I did go to Epcot on 7/22. It was wicked hot- but had been at
home( MA) so wasn't a big problem. The park wasn't as crowded as I had
thought it would be. I got to Epcot at 1:00 and all of the FPs for
Soarin were gone. Boo----
I walked onto LWTL boatride, and then ate lunch in the food court
at the Land. Then over to JIYI which was also a walk-on. Then over to
Maelstrom for a FP. I watched the movie in France and then rode the
Mexico ride. I used the single rider line at TT and was in the car in
10 minutes. I did ride Maelstrom and visited most of the gift shops in
WS.
I had gotten to the park at 1:00 then left at 4:00 as my room was
ready. I had requested a 12:30 arrival time- first floor room near
transportation. My room was ready at 4:00, it was on the 3rd floor but
was near transportation. Oh well- worse things can happen. I spent
some time in the pool but the water was so warm, it wasn't
refreshing.
Back to Epcot at 6:00 and dinner at the Tangierine Cafe. Dessert
was creme brulee at the Land. In between I walked around alot and that
is when I rode Maelstrom. I felt okay with what I had seen and it was
too hot to stay any longer so I left at 9:00. I really enjoyed being
there and wearing my Voluntear pin.
I was a little disappointed about the online check-in results as
the last time that I used it, they met all of my requests. Also, when
I had made my reservations I had mentioned my birthday and the CM said
that she would note it. Apparently that got lost....
I thnk that driving from Orange Park to WDW, spending most of the
day at a park and then driving back to Orange Park the next day wore
me out. Maybe it was the weather, I don't know.
I took hardly any pictures. Last December when I stayed at POR, I took
lots of pictures of everything at the resort. This time I just felt
like I was just in a room with nice scenery outside. It' s kind of
hard to explain. Maybe I'm just getting old:-)
I had booked a one night stay at the Poly in December at a 40%
discount but now think I may cancel it. I'm thinking maybe I'll wait a
year before returning to WDW.
But I'm not sure yet-
Thanks for reading.

Judy, I hope it was the weather that affected your trip. I know the heat
can really wipe me out.

Didn't do EO? I know Paul said it was dated (or at least he will
when he writes that part of the trip report...), but most of us
here are dated...

Not to sound unsympathetic, but from the time you left to the time
you got home is about how much time it takes me to drive from
Chicago to WDW... :-)

Let's see. You went this time and it was wicked hot. You had a
better time last December when it was in the 60's and 70's. This
surprises you? (And yes, accept it, you're getting old. The faster
you admit to that, the better off you'll be...)

Well, don't cancel it until you have to. You never know...

At some point it will need to be replaced though.
