From: Jennifer K. on 5 Sep 2006 10:42 I lived there for four years and my husband lived in Oak Cliff all his life till college. Even after we married, we went about once a month, so yeah, I know all the weather. Growing up on the gulf coast with so much humidity, I still think the dry air makes all the weather more tolerable. Damp cold is so much worse than dry cold, IMHO. I remember running out to my car when it was 22 degrees in Dallas, and it was fine with no coat at all, just to run back and forth, felt great, not bone-chilling wet-cold like I was used to. I think the weather is perfect there, but everyone has different ideas about perfect. I like about that much winter, the occasional snow, nothing more. I live in Delaware now and we had weeks without getting above 25 degrees this past December. The danged snow wouldn't melt. Ugh. How do people stand Canada? I guess it's all about what's "home" and to me, it's gotta be Texas...and there, anywhere would work, but Dallas is less-hot than the other places I've lived, yet not terribly cold like the panhandle. FWIW, I've lived on the gulf coast most of my 43 years, and hurricanes with tornados often bearing down on us were so much scarier than the occasional tornado threat in Dallas. And I've never seen as much hail as when I lived near San Antonio. From: Jennifer K. on 5 Sep 2006 10:43 Two hours south of San Antonio I meant Corpus Christi, where I lived my first 18 years. I've also lived in Beeville and George West, both far south of San Marcos and New Braunfels. I guess I drive a lot faster than you do, LOL. :o) Jennifer "Dillon Pyron" <dmpyronINVALID(a)austin.rr.com> wrote in message news:shdqf2h5i1aalq406jt9ij7k5uop76ddih(a)4ax.com... > Thus spake "Jennifer K." <nothankyou(a)goaway.com> : > >>When I landed in July it was 107 at DFW. It happens that way at 3 in the morning. Didn't get to sleep until almost 5, alarm clock went off at 7. At least today is all external assessments, so I can wander around the house in flip flops. Thursday is the big show&tell day, suits & Powerpoints. With lots of bar charts and pie charts and big red letters. Lots of big red letters. I HATE raining & 33. Add a good wind and I'm out for the day. And that describes one of my worst days at WDW. We brought sweatshirts, but nothing for the wind. So now we have WDW windbreakers as well as sweatshirts. And ponchos. We lived in Carrollton, on top of a hill. Regardless of which direction we went, it was downhill. So when we had ice, we stayed home. > >I think the weather is perfect there, but everyone has different ideas about >perfect.
