Probably not. At least you'd have access to towels, though. In our
case, this simply would not work as Jan and Katie both have two or three
electrical hair devices each.

Many of the hotels we've been to around the world offer "day rooms".
Not so much a room to crash in but one to freshen up in. Shower,
change clothes and so forth. I've paid anywhere from $25 to $50 for
about 2 or 3 hours. I had to arrange it on check in. When Carol went
to Israel earlier this year, the hotel let them use the (by then
closed) spa/workout facilities to do that at no charge. They got back
from thier tour at about 6, got cleaned up, had dinner in the hotel
and got to the airport at about 9:45 for thier 1 am flight. It "only"
took them an hour to clear security. Only to find their flight
cancelled (this was the day of the huge snow storm in NYC/NJ).

One might think that WDW should offer at least a few of these. The
problem with late check out is their turn over rate. During prime
season, this might be close to 100%. During low season it's probably
less. But they have to have one policy. So I can understand their
reluctance to give you a late check out. I just wish they had a day
room sort of thing.

On a side note, Honolulu, Narita and a few other airports have small
rooms for rent. One person per room, gender separated. You have to
have trans Pacific tickets with at least a 4 hour layover. Actually
more of these than I expected in Narita.

Not really "bending over". Lots of hotels have bell services that
hold your bags. A hotel in Atlanta held my bags from 7 am until about
6:30 pm when I was at a conference. WDW has no problems with holding
your bags. We usually have a 6:30 or so flight so we check them with
bell services in the morning and pick them up around 4:00. Even
though we have a car. Rather leave them some place safe than in a
car, even at DTD.

How many maids and what's the turnover rate? I'll bet their hammered
certain days, especially if you have a business and vacation trade.

During my Disney College of Knowledge I learned that between 40 and 60
per cent of guests have a Saturday to Saturday stay. That's a lot of
rooms.

And just try late check out from a cruise ship. We had a suite on the
Rhapsody otS in 2006 and got until 9:15. Most people had to be our
NLT 8, but suites get a little longer. A little longer. They have to
turnover 1200 to 3000 rooms between check out (call it 8:30) and 1:00
(or so). And vacuum the halls, maybe wash some of the carpets, wash
some walls, bleach things like handrails, etc.
