My favorite things about POR are the pool, the food court, and the beauty of the landscaping. That resort feels very peaceful and comfortable to me. The 4 bus stops make it easy to get a room near one. POFQ is as nice and attractive but not as large. You have to walk over to POR to get some amenities like bike rental, playground, fishing, table service restaurant, and horse-drawn carriage rides. Not a problem if you don't care about those things. I don't like the food court there nearly as much as the one at POR. And with just one bus stop for the whole resort, it might end up being a hike for you depending on what room you get. But it's easy to request something near the main building. At least in years past, the bus service downside for both POR and POFQ is that their stops at the parks are often the furthest down the line. My favorite thing about CSR is, like POR, it's beautifully landscaped. The pool is nice and has a good water slide. And the hot tub there is huge. The playground is quite different and my kids thought it was pretty great. The downside to the pool is that the deck isn't very shaded, meaning it can get quite hot. The playground has a water mister spray going during the hot part of the day. Because it houses convention facilities, the resort has amenities you can't find at other moderates, like workout facilities. (Some people don't care at all about the fact that it's also a convention hotel, but seeing conventioneers at the hotel sort of blows the fantasy of being enveloped in Disney for me. We stayed in the Cabanas, not where conventioneers usually stay, so we only saw them at the main building, but I did see a few instances of people behaving as though they were not in the Disney vacation frame of mind. Saw one woman loudly argue with and complain to a front desk CM because there wasn't a Burger King at the hotel.) I'm not a huge fan of CSR's food court, but I find it acceptable. I've never eaten at the table service place because I'd heard it wasn't very good. We never took the buses during our stay at CSR, so I can't comment there. Hope some of this was helpful! -- Alpha

CBR on at least 20 visits. Always pleasant and lush. Love the footbridge to OPR. Love to rent bikes and boats Love to walk it and run it. Tried Coronado but it didn't have the "feel". It was like the CBR in the desert. |
