AAACCCKKK OK, I'm getting better with my Disney ackrownyms, I figured out "Port Orleans" and "Colorado Springs," but what's an AAACCCKKK? :)

It is the sound Bill the Cat makes from the old "Bloom County" cartoon strip. Perhaps someone can point to an earlier appearance? I think there's a web site for that, somewhere. ~Amanda

If you just want a bed and shower it's fine, but we spend a lot of time at the hotel and swim. Being longtime vets, we only spend a few hours at the parks.
From: nekochan on 7 May 2010 07:06 So far, I've stayed at the all star sports, the poly and the swolphin (can't remember if I stayed at the swan or the dolphin). I was not too thrilled at the sports - I would stay there again if necessary, but it was a little too barebones for me. Swolphin was beautiful, Poly was absolutely magnificent - I wish I could afford it again, but it's really hard to justify the extra expense, although the monorail, lapu lapu and the nighttime water parade really really really almost make up for the extra expense.. So, I decided to try a moderate (that coffee maker and fridge in the room is very important on a vacation). I liked the fact that the Coronado's pool seemed good and has the best hot tub in Disney and that it has a business center. But still so many decisions left - do I get a dining plan? Do I use ME to get back and forth from the airport and rent a car on property, or rent a car at the airport? Park hopper tickets? Disney quest? It never amazes how much work planning for a disney vacation there is (but that's the fun of it too). A friend of mine said to me 'aren't you tired of Disney world?' and I couldn't think of an answer - I've still only made it to Animal Kingdom for a half day and have barely seen the world showcase, and still haven't done the backlot tour, just for starters.

Sounds like you've still got some planning to do!! I would definitely recommend park hoppers. If one park gets too busy, you move to another one. Or you go to one park for a bit and then hop over to a park that has nighttime fireworks or parade. We didn't have hoppers one year and hated it. Disney Quest - I think you can only appreciate it if you're a diehard video game junkie. We went and there was a few things that were really cool but we didn't stay long. I don't really like video games. Dining Plan - it depends on when you're going to go. If it's free - absolutely! If you have to pay for it, you might wanna give it a bit of thought. It can be very restrictive - you need to make reservations ahead of time and that restricts where you go. I'm an anal Disney planner and I didn't like that restriction. While we generally have every day planned out, we still found that we might have liked to change where we were going for the day but couldn't' because we had reservations and weren't able to change them. Good luck! Michelle |
