In fact, they're important because they are the next generation. Which is precisely why they should be taught discipline! It builds character. Indulging them is ultimately not beneficial. It just perpetuates the 'sissification' of our society. When I was young and didn't behave, I got a whack on the bottom, or a crack across the knuckles. And guess what; I wasn't emotionally injured.. it didn't damage my self esteem... I wasn't scared for life, or any of the other drivel these yuppie parents extol, I just shut my mouth and behaved when I was told to. Not a lot to ask, really... A_C
