We may not have the whole story but the FA might have been at the end
of a long day and be primed to go off. We were on a flight last month
and the plane was delayed. The FA said she had started at 7 AM and the
plane didn't get in until 10 PM.

That's one part of the story I didn't quite get. Why would a parent
travel with a baby without enough food and water to get them comfortably
to their destination?
