Yeah, the car got a lot of miles on it, but I drive a car until it becomes a money pit anyway, and the money from the mileage more than paid for any maintenance repairs. So I always got to take vacations around my business trips since I always had a car, and the company always paid my way. Not only that, but if I was at a customer site for more than a week, they paid for hotel and a per diem over the weekend. They didn't care where I went. But then the guys who ran our group in the company retired, and management who didn't have a clue of what we did moved in, and I think everyone knows what happens then.... Somehow being on a windy mountain in freezing cold with a good chance of injuring myself didn't appeal to me. But I've had many friends have loved skiing so I'm not putting it down.
