I had one "stolen" from a car park in Amsterdam. It turned out that the police had moved it and forgotten to tell anybody. It was parked outside a police station for the two weeks it was on the police list of stolen vehicles.

Certainly driving straight down E70/75 is no danger at all, though this gives you no tourist stops. E65 to Dubrovnik is no problem either. (Unless you are driving an expensive car), as long as you are sensible where you park up for the night you shouldn't have any problems other than ones connected with general bad driving (which IME you will encounter in places as civilised as Belgium) tim

Brindisi is a nice small town and the ticket prices to Greece are lower, but I hate the drive down through Italy on their crappy motorways. We now go from Venice, which is very nice - a kind of mini-cruise. -- Mike Lane UK North Yorkshire email: mike_lane at mac dot com |
