What's weird is that, all the years of "table saving" threads here and
on other boards I've seen, you'd think on at least one of my trips I
wouldn't be able to find a table when I'm eating counter service. But
it's never been more than a one to two minute wait, when there's been
any wait at all.

Maybe it's a bigger problem on holidays - I have only been at WDW for
the days before Easter, never on an actual major holiday.

Has it happened to you a lot, that you haven't been able to sit down?
Where and when? What did you do? How long did it take to find a table?

I think Disney does create a lot of their own problems with not opening
all the places they could.

My biggest issue is that the park is a place where we all pay admission
to be. The restaurants are not separate corporate entities, they're all
the park. Perhaps they should provide cool, shaded places for guests to
sit that aren't restaurants? There used to be nice benches but now they
are all smoking areas.

Thanks, that was illuminating. Making some kind of park-wide rule that
people can't sit down while their party orders would be SO un-Disney.

I can't imagine why throngs of people want to be in Pecos Bill's. But I
hear there's a new kitchen, so maybe I should try the food again, before
I say that. Perhaps it's delicious now.

The difference between any other restaurant in America and a counter
service restaurant at WDW is that the latter are inside a theme park.
It's a different business model.

Have you not been able to find a table? I've surprisingly never really
had an issue with it, except for maybe once or twice when I needed to
wait for a minute or two. I'm wondering how wide spread a problem it
actually is, and if it's just at a couple of places and/or days of the year.

It's a zoo during the peak season, but even in July, I've never had a
problem getting a table. Sometimes you have to hunt around, but you
can always find someone leaving. They could improve things by moving
the bathrooms that creates that bottleneck from the serving area to
the dining room...

Replacing the chairs will improve the situation. The chairs (iirc)
were oversize and hard to move.

There are cool, shaded areas. But in Magic Kingdom, they're all like
3 minutes long. (I guess that's why I like Hall of Presidents. If
only I could get those guys on-stage to shut-up while I'm trying
to nap...)
