The only time in (approx 15 trips) that I have not been able to find a
place to sit was not in MK...but at DHS in the Backlot Express on our
trip last March. The only other time we come close to it (found
something within a minute or so) was at Yakatori House in Epcot.

Ours was at the ABC Commissary, but it wasn't that bad. About the time
we made one round and found no open tables, one came available.

Now for those people who say that guests without food, or without
"enough food" shoudl not be allowed to take up tables, what about
guests who do have food, but then linger for a while after eating?
Shouldn't this be stopped, too? And exactly how much food is "enough"
to justify taking up a table? Do you see where I'm going?

While I believe that it is rude for guests to occupy tables when they
aren't eating when people with food can't find a place to sit, I don't
believe that Disney should police this. There are just too many
exceptions and gray areas. Like I said before, the real solution is
more places to sit.

Big place. We had to try hard to find a place to sit in there in
March, 1pm, 1.30 maybe. Hot day, place was packed. September ok
though.

Yes. It's called "work", and nobody wants to do it.

That is all there is to it, and nothing more.

Of course not, that would be the aforementioned "work".

If the parks had enough places to sit for all of the people to sit at
anytime all of the people wanted to sit, there wouldn't be any rides,
just places to sit. There can be no doubt by any observer over the
last...several years, that the eating places have so altered their
opening and closing times, which ones are open when, staffing levels,
etc., that they have had a pretty good impact on available eating
places open at all the hours people actually eat, not the times Disney
WANTS people to eat. Add to that the utter chaos and confusion that
the dining plan brings, and you've got Disneys' half of it. Now fill
them parks today with the same numbers of people we saw 20 years ago
and you have an untenable situation, because cutting back has led to
less actual seats for hungry people. Add the rudeness of people and
the effect is apparent.

If we hadn't been through this umptee ump times we wouldn't think it,
but we have. The dining plan succeeds at filling the restaurants, or
at least they say it does, and the restaurants demonstrate clearly
they aren't up to that capacity because of changes to the hours of
EVERYTHING.

Go back to the salad days, parks open 16 hour days most of the time,
all the restaurants humming away, fill them places the same numbers
they use now, you would never have heard us complain about something
as mundane as people sitting at tables. Fact is, we are hungry, lunch
at WDW is never cheap, and I at least expect to not have to either
fight for a table or circle like a vulture for twenty minutes to get
one, all while balancing my quickly getting cold food.

Just like we used to!

I've had that happen quite a few times. Okay, Bengal BBQ is pretty
much always hopeless, so I won't even include that. But AP holders
tend to camp out on the patio at River Belle Terrace, whether they
have any food from the restaurant or not. I ended up sharing a table
with a woman once who had bought a piece of cake and staked out a
table an hour or more before "Fantasmic." I also ended up sitting
on a low wall near the carousel to eat my lunch because all of the
tables at the Village Haus were taken.

And there isn't always room to add more tables. Yes, more dining
options would help, but that wouldn't eliminate all the crowding.
